Maier outdoor trousers come in three leg lengths. Maier differ from other brands in that each leg length is not only shorter or longer, but the cut conforms to the relevant proportions. That means that the form of knee fits perfectly in the knee and the volume at thigh is tuned to the particular figure.
Because of this they assign a size number to their every 'fit'. For example (using the chart above and height guide below), if you are looking for a waist size of 35" and you stand over 6'1" then Maier's recommended fit would be a size 98. For those with a 35" waist standing at 5'10", the recommend size would be 50.

Stocky: These are cut a little shorter with respect to the total proportions. Short sizes fit best for those under 174cm | 68"

Standard: The graduation between sizes has continually been adjusted, and has been found best over the decades. Standard sizes fit best for those between 174-186cm | 68"-73"

Long: Here, the leg length is adapted to the body size. Long sizes fit best for those taller than 186cm | 73"
