Aimed towards the alpine climber or winter mountaineer, the Anti-Feeze jacket from Montane does exactly what it says; keeping you warm in adverse conditions thanks to 210g of 750+ fill power goose down.
The Anti-Freeze is constructed from Pertex Quantum, a highly windproof durable fabric that ensures warmth it is held in the lofted down. Additionally, the ripstop properties of Quantum fabric enhance the wear resistance of the jacket, whilst reducing the possibility of feather leaching through the material. To minimise the impact from unexpected showers, the jacket has been coated in a water-repellent finish to shed light rain.
A three-point adjustment down-filled hood can be rolled away in high wind conditions and has been designed to fit over a climbing helmet. In order to reduce heat loss, an internal storm flap behind a YKK reverse coil main zip reduces unwanted wind drafts, while an adjustable hem can be cinched down with a drawcord to lock in heat.
Other climbing-specific traits can be found all over the Anti-Freeze. Articulated arms ensure u-restricted movement when reaching for holds. A zippered external chest pocket can be used to store route cards. Just like a traditional belay jacket, the Anti-Freeze’s main zipper is two-way, enabling the belayer to still have access to the bridge of a climbing harness when belaying a lead.
Montane’s Anti-Freeze provides immediate warmth for stationary climbers in cold environments. The jacket comes with a transport dry bag to ensure it’ll be dry when you need it. Intended to be used in winter and at higher altitudes, the Anti-Freeze will keep you warm when the temperature drops.
*As with all down jackets it is essential to store them uncompressed out of their transport bag so they retain their loft and warmth

This is my third or fourth Montane anti freeze jacket. It doesn't feel as well filled as previous versions, time will tell if it's as warm. Well made and true to size, I particularly wanted one without a hood, so am very happy with the jacket obtained.
Innovative, lightweight, breathable. Montane has become synonymous with lightweight and breathable clothing and equipment.
