A large trekking backpack with a 60L capacity and adjustable back length

About the Sierra Designs Gigawatt 60

Designed for those weekend adventurers and multiday hikers looking to embrace longer-distance trails the Gigawatt backpack from Sierra Designs has a 60L capacity to carry all the backpacking essentials.

The Gigawatt is built around Sierra Design's advanced perimeter frame and features an array of external compression straps. The perimeter frame allows for sublime load transfer into the hip belt for improved carrying capacity.

A top-loading design uses a reverse clamshell, this streamlines the access with no need for drawcords. A front zipper provides access to the main body of the pack, allowing for improved functionality of compartmentalization. The exterior features 3 mesh stash pockets, ideal for wet gear that can dry on the move or for water bottles/tentpoles.

Large hipbelt pockets allow you to carry bigger phones or snacks while the oversized hipbelt itself allows you to carry heavier loads more comfortably. The harness system of the pack can be adjusted which allows for accommodating torso sizes between 40cm-53cm.

Constructed from high-wearing 400D Polyester Ripstop the Gigawatt is durable enough to withstand the demands of trial life. Weighing in at a respectable 1.84kg, the pack ensures the base weight of your kit is kept to a minimum.

Made for life on your feet and traversing the natural world - the Gigawatt from Sierra designs.

I was really disappointed by the Gigawatt 60. I bought it after looking at a lot of reviews, needing a thru hiking pack for a multi-day along the Norfolk Coast Path. I like the design of the pack, particularly the large pockets on the sides and front. It's light for the price and I was able to get a nice comfortable fit on training walks. However... The quality of the stitching is very poor. A couple of days in the stitching around the top pocket zip failed revealing very little fabric attached to the zip. This then happened on the main zip. However worst of all was the failure of the stitching on the strap. This has made the pack unusable. I was prepared to accept that I might've stressed the top pocket stitching due to the amount/shape.of things in it, but it looks like a case of poor quality all round. Maybe I just got a bad one, but no way will I be buying Sierra Designs again. I'm regretting not trying an Exped which was my other choice.
