The grooved surface lets your sleeping bag's insulation expand into the gaps, which helps maintain effective loft and heat retention that would otherwise be lost by crushing the insulation beneath your body.
A new one-way Peak Valve provides high airflow for ease of inflation and deflation, together with a lay-flat design that won't get in the way.
