The Nordisk Oppland 4 PU tent is a spacious group backpacking shelter with a strong tunnel construction and extended vestibule for practical comfort.

The Oppland 4 offers a fast set-up that pitches fly and inner together with a stable, aerodynamic tunnel construction to see off bad weather. One of the widest four-man tents on the market, the Oppland provides plenty of living space and an extended vestibule for kit storage, meal prep, and riding out harsh conditions.

Large front and side entrances provide hassle-free access, with all-around zippers and storage pockets to keep door panels stowed out of the way. The Oppland 4 tent features a protected vent at each end which, together with the optional micro-mesh door panels, creates multiple options for ventilation and moisture management in warm weather.

Four mesh-corner pockets help stow and organise smaller items, while ceiling toggles let you attach lighting and run clotheslines for airing.

A durable 68D ripstop fly features waterproof PU coating to 3000mm with a tough 150D Oxford polyester floor delivering 8000mm water resistance.

The Oppland 4 has undergone Nordisk’s own wind tunnel test for verification of tent stability and is capable of withstanding winds up to 25 m/s.

I really like this tent. I have had a Hilleberg Nallo 3 for twenty years, which I rate very highly. This Oppland 4 is just like a bigger version of the Nallo. Pitching it was very familiar! It poured with rain within minutes of pitching. All fine, including the (super helpful) footprint. Water needed pleasingly on the outer. I really like the full-door fly screen. Together with the vents top and bottom at the back of the inner and the vents in the flysheet I think we've got a good chance of not feeling stuffy. It was a struggle to get one if the poles into the plastic cup. I certainly didn't need to tighten any of the straps once poles were in. So that feels like a failure of design or manufacture. Didn't affect me though. Pegs are very sturdy and light. Guy ropes in all the right places and with useful toggle to tidy them away when packing up. I think the bag could be more generous. The tent has all gone back in but with the Hilleberg that was always a doddle even if you just stuffed it in. On my scales the tent is 6 kilos. A couple of loose threads hanging down inside. Stitching maybe slightly less neat (and strong?) than the Hilleberg. I'm delighted. I feel a bit ashamed to have bought a blatant copy of a Hilleberg but I can't afford one and don't need it for me family bike-packing in France!
