About the Edelrid Starling Protect Pro Dry
Edelrid has incorporated aramid fibres into their new Starling half rope to improve the cut resistance over sharp edges without affecting its dynamic properties. By incorporating the aramid into the sheath, the elasticity of the rope hasn't been compromised, which combined with Thermo Shield allows for supple handling when in use.
To improve upon its environmental resistance, Edelrid have applied their Pro Dry finish to the rope, improving its water repellent and dirt resistance properties, thus making it ideal for use in adverse conditions. The Pro Dry finish also aids in water absorption, which is less than 2% as per UIAA Water Repellent Testing, helping keep the weight of the rope down in alpine terrain.
